A little about our place and the countryside .

Hilmersgarden an experience in the glass. Bed & breakfast in an inspiring, peaceful and natural environment close to my glass studio and gallery. All surrounded by a beautiful tranquil garden and exciting visit. Enjoy the magic of the glass in both galleries and garden.

Hilmersgarden was originally a small cottage built around 1905th. The cottage was named after the man who built the place his name was Hilmer. In the 1970s the cottage was built together with the former barn, in the same time they built a further part to give the house its present form as a residence. The stable was built in 1986.

Until December 2001 when we ( the family Elmquist ) moved in to Hilmers the place had been a horse farm. The stabel became my new glass studio and gallery. We kept stable environment to create an unusual and atmospheric setting to show the glass in. When I started my company the place got its present name "Hilmersgarden". In the summer of 2009, we made a reconstruction and extension to the former stable. So I got a new studio and activity increased with Bed & breakfast and a new cafeteria including a new kitchen.

Hilmersgarden belonging to "Kungsrike", which is the collective name for the sights "Fjärås Bräcka" outdoor museum, Äskhults village, Tjolöholm castle and some 50 smaller places of interest in a living countryside in between. The sorrounding landscape is rich of ancient tracks. The first humans came to this part of the country already 10 000 years ago. There are many historic tombs and other relics from our ancestors.
